Epsom Girls Grammar School is a school that strives for excellence: in performance, in the connections between people and in its pastoral supports. A large, secondary school for girls, they are located centrally in Auckland with a current role of 2,300 students. Their expert staff teach towards the national qualification NCEA, and starting this year also offer Cambridge International qualifications in some subject areas with this expected to grow over time.
Headed by a Learning Area Director, the Mathematics faculty has twenty-nine full and part time staff. Heads of Department lead a staff of innovative educators with a passion for mathematics education. Students work towards qualifications in NCEA at Levels 1-3 and Cambridge IGCSEs with AS level being introduced in 2027.
You are:
– Available for an interview in London (8/9 July) or Manchester (11/12 July)
-A qualified classroom teacher currently teaching 13-18 year old students
-An excellent communicator and are able to build strong relationships with students, colleagues and the wider school community
-A team player, valuing collaboration and a supportive teaching environment
-Have a growth mindset, and are used to reflecting and refining your teaching practice
-Have NZ Teacher registration or the ability to attain this
The school has a large co-curricular programme of sports, visual and performing arts, cultural expression as well as charity and service opportunities. Staff are expected to take an active role in supporting the co-curricular programme of the school, by coaching or managing teams and groups.
Full support will be provided for relocation and you may be eligible for a NZD$10,000 relocation grant. Secondary teaching is on the Immigration NZ's Straight to Residency visa pathway so now may be the right time to consider a move.
