Operations Manager
Family-Owned Business | South West | Multi-Site Leadership Role
This is a senior Operations Manager role within a long-established, family-owned service business operating across the South West.
The business has grown steadily over more than 30 years and is known for reliability, consistency and customer care. It operates a multi-depot, fleet-based model with a broad and diverse customer base across hospitality, healthcare, education, offices, construction and industrial environments. Service delivery sits at the heart of everything it does.
The Operations Manager will sit between ownership and the wider operational teams, taking responsibility for day-to-day performance across three locations. This is a visible, hands-on role requiring strong operational grip, people leadership and the ability to protect standards while developing and empowering the teams for the future.
You will be regularly on site, supporting, mentoring and coaching managers and their teams, motivating performance and creating an environment where people can thrive. You will ensure that customer care is delivered consistently and without compromise while helping individuals build confidence, capability and accountability. This is not a desk-based role. Presence, credibility and leadership on the ground are essential.
Alongside people and operations, the role will play a key part in supporting the Operations / IT Director’s vision for systems, CRM and data. You will help drive continuous improvement in how technology supports planning, reporting, performance management and customer outcomes.
This role will suit an experienced Operations Manager or General Manager from a field-based, logistics-led or service environment who enjoys being accountable, visible and trusted. You will be commercially aware, comfortable with systems and KPIs, and genuinely passionate about developing people, nurturing talent and building high-performing teams, alongside delivering excellent service.
In return, this is an opportunity to join a business where decisions are made quickly, standards matter and leadership has real impact. You will be trusted to protect what has been built while investing in the growth of the people around you, playing a central role in shaping both the team and the next phase of the business.
