Howdens is recruiting an experienced Operations Manager to join our Runcorn Manufacturing Site. With a £100 million investment driving the expansion and transformation of our Runcorn operation, this is an exciting opportunity to join a FTSE 100 business and make a real impact.
Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, you'll lead and develop a high-performing team, ensuring targets are achieved across health and safety, quality, cost, delivery and people metrics. Through effective communication, coaching and development, you'll create a positive, accountable culture while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Shift Pattern: This role operates on a 3-week rotating shift pattern comprising morning shift (Monday-Friday, 06:00-14:00), afternoon shift (Monday-Friday, 14:00-22:00) and night shift (Sunday-Thursday, 22:00-06:00).

What you will be doing as an Operations Manager:

Oversee the safe and efficient flow of raw materials and finished goods to meet business demand.

Develop labour plans and budgets to deliver operational and strategic goals.

Drive compliance standards and ensure robust policy and procedure adherence.

Partner with Planning and Operations teams to deliver service priorities.

Build a high-performing, adaptable team through clear leadership and communication.

Collaborate across Supply Chain functions to optimise performance and service levels.

Recruit, develop and engage talent while fostering a positive, values-led culture.
What do you need to qualify for an Operations Manager Role:

Proven leadership experience within a multi-line manufacturing or supply chain environment.

An inspiring leadership style, with the ability to engage teams and communicate a clear vision.

Strong knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques, with a track record of driving continuous improvement.

Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
