Lifting Operations Supervisor
Location: Leiston, Suffolk
Start Date: Immediate
Duration: Minimum 2 weeks
Pay Rate: £20.51 per hour
Shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Role Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Lifting Operations Supervisor for a temporary assignment based in Leiston, Suffolk. This is a hands-on supervisory role responsible for overseeing all lifting activities, ensuring operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant regulations and site procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all lifting operations on site
- Ensure compliance with LOLER regulations and company safety standards
- Review and implement lifting plans and risk assessments
- Brief lifting teams and conduct toolbox talks
- Monitor lifting activities to ensure safe execution
- Liaise with site management, crane operators, and slingers/signallers
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards
- Maintain accurate records and reports of lifting operations
- Ensure all equipment is used correctly and inspected as required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Lifting Operations Supervisor
- Relevant certification (e.g. CPCS Appointed Person / Lift Supervisor or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations, particularly LOLER
- Ability to read and interpret lifting plans
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- CSCS card (essential)
