As a Lab Technician, you'll utilise advanced, computer-controlled edging and glazing equipment, applying your expertise and attention to detail to consistently deliver exceptional quality and accuracy. You'll play a key role in maintaining high technical standards to ensure outstanding customer satisfaction.
Bringing your proven experience within an optical lab environment, you'll work collaboratively as part of a specialist team, taking ownership of preparing and finishing customer spectacle orders to the highest professional standards.

Located in the heart of Aldershot, Hampshire, our modern and welcoming Specsavers store is a vibrant hub of activity, just a short walk from the bustling Wellington Centre. With four fully equipped test rooms and state-of-the-art optical technology, we offer a bright and contemporary environment designed for both excellent customer care and a great colleague experience. The store is easily accessible by public transport, with Aldershot train station under a 10 minute walk away. For those travelling by car, there is a convenient multi-storey car park directly behind the store, where team members benefit from discounted parking. Our Team
You'll be joining a friendly and collaborative team in our Aldershot store, where collaboration and a genuinely supportive atmosphere are at the heart of everything we do. Our lab team is made up of three colleagues who work closely together to keep everything running smoothly, playing a key role in ensuring swift, high-quality glazing while creating a great learning environment for anyone interested in developing their technical skills.
The team take pride in creating a fun and friendly workplace, and they make time to celebrate together too — with two big social events each year, including a summer party and a festive Christmas get-together. It's a warm, welcoming environment where you can feel valued, grow your skills, and truly enjoy coming to work.

What we're looking for?
With your proven experience in an Optical Lab, you'll play a key role within the team, ensuring all spectacle orders are prepared to the highest possible standard. You'll be confident and competent in the following responsibilities:
- Accurately interpreting lens and frame specifications from prescriptions
- Setting and glazing lenses into frames with a consistently high level of precision and attention to detail
- Carrying out minor repairs and adjustments efficiently and to standard
- Working to agreed turnaround times to meet customer expectations and service levels
