Seeking an experienced Accountant & Bookkeeper to join an established company based in Central London on a permanent, part-time basis as their sole finance team member, owning end to end finance.
This is an exciting long-term opportunity to contribute to a growing business as it transitions into a newly incorporated company. The role offers flexibility with remote working and occasional on-site presence at its London-based premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day banking operations, including reconciliations for multi-currency accounts, and post entries to sales, purchase, and nominal ledgers.
- Process invoice payments with appropriate approval.
- Generate monthly sales reports from invoices and input them into accounting software. Allocate and input all purchase invoices accurately.
- Perform manual allocation of cost of sales, stock accrual entries, and maintain additional spreadsheets for stock reconciliation and annual adjustments.
- Produce management accounts and update profit & loss forecasts regularly.
- Handle payment and allocation of credit card accounts and reimburse personal expenses.
- Process salary payments accurately and on time.
- Prepare VAT returns, including specialised VAT entries unique to the industry, ensuring timely submission to tax authorities.
- Maintain schedules related to industry-specific compliance requirements (e.g., resale rights).
- Collaborate closely with leadership on all accounting matters, addressing day-to-day queries as needed.
- Conduct monthly cash flow analysis and forecasting to support financial planning.
- Prepare debtors/creditors reports for review.
- Assist in preparing annual accounts for external audit by third-party accountants.
Requirements:
- AAT qualification or QBE (Qualified by Experience).
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
- Effective communicator capable of liaising across teams and with leadership.
- Flexible and adaptable to change within a dynamic environment.
