SiSTEM Technology Limited

About Us

We are an established SME based in Silverstone, operating as a specialist distributor within the semiconductor and advanced technology sectors. We work with leading global manufacturers to supply high-precision equipment and solutions to universities, research institutions, and high-tech industry clients across the UK, Europe, and beyond.

The Role

We are seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to work 16 hours per week, equivalent to £16,640 per annum. This is based on a full-time equivalent salary of £39,000 per annum, pro rata.

The role will involve taking ownership of our day-to-day financial transactions and supporting the smooth running of our finance function.

This is a primarily office-based role due to the collaborative and operational nature of the position. We are therefore looking for someone based locally, or within a reasonable commuting distance of our Silverstone office, who is able to attend regularly and work closely with the Management Accountant and wider team.

We are looking for someone who is able to work mornings, ideally across four days per week at approximately four hours per day. This will help align the role with the rest of the finance team and support effective communication across the business.

This role would suit someone who is confident operating independently from day one, takes ownership of their work, and is able to deliver accurate, timely results with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Work as part of a small team, supporting day-to-day bookkeeping activities and the smooth running of the finance function.

Take ownership of the day-to-day bookkeeping function, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Process purchase and sales invoices within Xero and internal systems, ensuring correct coding, approval, and timely entry.

Work across financial systems and the company CRM to maintain accurate and consistent data.

Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including supplier payments and credit control.

Perform regular bank and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy.

Maintain and reconcile company bank accounts and credit cards.

Process employee expenses in line with company policies and procedures.

Support the preparation of VAT returns and assist with other statutory reporting requirements.

Manage the finance inbox, responding promptly and accurately to internal and external queries.

Provide support to the wider finance team with month-end processes and ad hoc duties as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper
  • Must have experience using Xero
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (including basic formulas and reconciliations)
  • Ability to work with digital records and cloud-based systems
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping best practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of tasks
  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a small team
  • Accounting qualifications such as AAT or similar

Additional Information

Due to the office-based nature of this role, we are only seeking candidates who are located within a reasonable commuting distance of Silverstone in Northamptonshire.

This position is available immediately for the right candidate.
