Experienced Bookkeeper
Crawley Area | Part-Time 3 or 4 days PW | Permanent
We're looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a growing accountancy practice supporting a varied portfolio of SME clients. Practice experience is not essential, but CIS is.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with clients, keeping financial records accurate and up to date and taking ownership of their workload within a friendly and supportive team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining bookkeeping records for multiple clients
- Bank, sales and purchase ledger reconciliations
- Preparing and submitting VAT and CIS returns
- Producing accounts to trial balance
- Assisting with self-assessment tax returns
- Liaising with HMRC and clients when required
- Providing management information and financial updates
What we're looking for:
- Minimum 2 years' bookkeeping experience
- Good working knowledge of Xero, quickbooks or Sage
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident communicator with a client-focused approach
- Experience within an accountancy practice would be advantageous but not essential
