A long-established and well-regarded law firm in Southend-on-Sea is seeking a Part-Time Legal Secretary / Legal Typist to support their busy Residential Conveyancing department. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a typing-heavy workload, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to be part of a friendly, supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- High-volume audio typing and copy typing
- Preparing, formatting, and amending legal documents
- Managing confidential client information
- Supporting fee-earners with day-to-day secretarial tasks
- Handling multiple priorities within a busy conveyancing team
Working Pattern
- 3 or 4 days per week (Monday–Friday)
- 9:00am–5:30pm with a 1-hour lunch break

About You
- Ideally 2+ years’ experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Typist
- Conveyancing experience preferred but not essential
- Strong typing accuracy and excellent attention to detail
- Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with legal case management systems (advantageous not essential)
- Knowledge of conveyancing-specific software (beneficial not essential)
- Able to commute easily to Southend-on-Sea
- Passionate about dictation and typing
