NET Recruit are searching for a Part – Time Management Accountant to join a successful services business within the Dorset area.
Key Responsibilities:
While in this position your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Producing and reviewing monthly management accounts, while supporting with annual statutory accounts
- Preparing accurate budgets and forecasts, ensuring reliability of financial planning
- Presenting financial reports and engaging with budget holders and external stakeholders to review performance
- Maintaining up-to-date technical accounting knowledge to align accounts with relevant standards
- Managing workload allocation, delivery, and development of assistant management accountants
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness and processing journals, including accounting for accruals and prepayments correctly
- Reviewing the assistant management accountants work to verify accuracy and compliance
- Interrogating financial systems to identify discrepancies and implementing corrections
- Conducting variance analysis to monitor performance against budget and forecast
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and constructively challenging existing practices
- Completing external returns and preparing required statutory reporting, alongside ad-hoc reports and financial analysis, ensuring that all reporting deadlines are met
What You Will Need to Apply:
- Possession of an accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) or be part-qualified and it would be ideal to have either a finance degree or AAT level 4
- Excellent experience in management accounting or relevant field
- Experience in handling financial reporting, management accounting and budgeting
- Excellent IT skills, including use of financial systems and software
- Good ability to analyse and present data and financial information in an easy-to-understand way
- Strong communication skills
