Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire
Salary: £34,397 – £46,838 (MPS 1-6, pro-rata)
Contract: Temporary | Part-time (2 days per week – Thursdays and Fridays only)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Primary Teacher to join a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Hatfield, Hertfordshire from September 2026.

This is a part-time position (2 days per week), working exclusively on Thursdays and Fridays. The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 2 class, delivering high-quality teaching and learning within a supportive and inclusive school environment.

The school has an excellent reputation for nurturing both pupils and staff, with a strong commitment to collaboration, professional development, and continuous improvement. Pupils are engaged, respectful, and eager to learn, supported by a committed and experienced staff team.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
  • Have experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2
  • Demonstrate secure knowledge of the national curriculum
  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured and differentiated lessons
  • Use assessment effectively to support pupil progress and attainment
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
  • Create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Show strong organisational and communication skills
