Payroll Administrator

Reed are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join a busy and established Accountancy Practice on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who can hit the ground running and support the payroll team during a busy period. This is an office based role, 3 to 4 days a week and the temp duration is from 3-6 months. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for a varied portfolio of clients.
  • Calculating salaries, overtime, bonuses, commissions, statutory payments and deductions.
  • Processing starters, leavers and changes to employee records.
  • Managing SSP, SMP, SPP and other statutory payments.
  • Submitting RTI reports to HMRC.
  • Processing pension contributions and auto-enrolment requirements.
  • Handling payroll queries from clients and employees.
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring compliance with current legislation.
  • Assisting with payroll reconciliations and year-end payroll processes where required.

Requirements

  • Previous payroll experience within an accountancy practice or bureau environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC regulations.
  • Experience using payroll software such as Sage Payroll, BrightPay, Iris Payroll, Moneysoft or similar.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple payrolls and work to strict deadlines.
  • Available to start at short notice.
