Responsibilities
- Taking ownership of the full delivery cycle for weekly and monthly payrolls across multiple entities, while stepping in as needed to support team operations.
- Ensuring payroll compliance with statutory requirements, managing reporting obligations, and driving ongoing process improvements.
- Reviewing and validating FPS submissions, ensuring accurate reconciliation with HMRC records.
- Applying expertise in IR35 regulations, including carrying out status assessments and determinations.
- Managing and mentoring a team of Payroll Seniors and Advisors, promoting a high-performing and collaborative environment.
Experience and Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple payrolls within complex, multi-entity organisations.
- At least five years' experience leading and managing payroll teams.
- Strong leadership capability with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and team development.
- Proficient in working with a range of payroll systems; experience with IRIS Cascade is highly advantageous.
- Hands-on involvement in organisational changes, including acquisitions and TUPE transfers.
- Meticulous and detail-oriented approach to auditing payroll calculations and processes.
- Exposure to HRIS system implementations and upgrades is beneficial.
- Holds a minimum CIPP Level 4 qualification (or an equivalent credential).
