The Role
As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for processing end-to-end payroll across multiple contracts and pay agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance at all times. You will work closely with internal teams and external bodies to deliver an efficient payroll service.
Key Responsibilities
* Process payroll from start to finish across multiple contracts within strict deadlines * Process pay in line with various pay agreements * Set up and process new starters and leavers * Calculate redundancy, notice, statutory and occupational payments including SMP, SPP and SSP * Produce payroll reports for departments across the business * Liaise with departments to ensure deadlines are met and communication remains effective * Work closely with third parties including pension providers, HMRC and courts * Respond promptly and professionally to payroll queries * Maintain accurate payroll records and filing systems * Keep up to date with payroll and pension legislation * Follow payroll policies, procedures and processes consistently
About You
* Previous payroll experience within a fast-paced, multi-site and multi-contract environment * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office * Advanced Excel skills * Up-to-date knowledge of payroll and pension legislation * Knowledge of HMRC reporting including benefits in kind * CIPP qualification desirable but not essential * Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills * Strong communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
