PE Teacher
Prospero Teaching is working with an independent school in the Salisbury area to recruit an enthusiastic and committed PE Teacher (QTS) for a September start. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and well-resourced school environment where a strong focus is placed on both academic success and wider student development.
You will be responsible for delivering Physical Education across KS3 and KS4, promoting participation, teamwork, and a positive approach to health and fitness. Within an independent setting, there is also an expectation to contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and, where appropriate, supporting additional subject areas.
This role would suit a teacher who enjoys working in a smaller, collaborative environment and building strong relationships with pupils.
The Role:
- Teach Physical Education across KS3 and KS4
- Plan and deliver engaging, structured PE lessons
- Promote student participation, fitness, and wellbeing
- Contribute to extracurricular sports and school activities
- Support wider school activities and, where required, other subject areas
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement
- Work collaboratively with staff across the school
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge in Physical Education
- Experience teaching at secondary level
- Enthusiastic about school sport and extracurricular activities
- Flexible and willing to contribute across the wider school
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
- Collaborative, proactive, and student-focused approach
Contract Details:
- Position: PE Teacher (QTS)
- Location: Salisbury
- Start Date: September
- Working Pattern: Full-time
- Pay Rate: £32,916 – £51,047 per annum (M1-U3)
- Key Stages: KS3-KS4
- Setting: Independent School
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
- QTS required
- Secondary PE teaching experience preferred
- Experience in independent or smaller school settings beneficial
- Safeguarding training can be provided
