About the role
Macildowie is delighted to be working with a Multi-Academy Trust in Nottinghamshire to recruit a People Services / HR Support Officer to join their central People Team.
This is a key role supporting the delivery of a professional, responsive and compliant HR service across a group of academies. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring recruitment, employee records, safeguarding compliance and HR processes are managed accurately and efficiently, supporting school leaders and enabling the Trust to focus on delivering outstanding outcomes for pupils.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll work closely with Headteachers, senior leaders and the central People Team to support a wide range of HR activity, including:
- Coordinating end-to-end recruitment processes, from advertising vacancies through to offer and onboarding
- Preparing job adverts, application packs and supporting shortlisting and interview administration
- Ensuring all safer recruitment checks are completed, including DBS, references, right to work and qualification verification
- Maintaining accurate Single Central Records in line with safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
- Supporting employee relations processes including absence management and occupational health administration
- Providing first-line HR guidance to academies, signposting policies, procedures and escalation routes where needed
- Supporting induction, training coordination and staff development activities across the Trust
- Assisting with HR reporting, workforce data and statutory returns
- Ensuring all HR systems and employee records are accurately maintained in line with GDPR requirements
About you
We’re looking for someone who is organised, detail-focused and confident working in a fast-paced, multi-site environment. You will ideally bring:
- Experience in HR administration, recruitment coordination or a people services role would be preferred as would knowledge of i-Trent
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Confident communication skills with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders
- A proactive, supportive approach with a strong customer service mindset
- Experience within education or public sector environments would be beneficial but not essential
