Job Type: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Hours: 08:45 – 17:00
We are seeking a dedicated Personal Advisor to join our Social Care and Safeguarding team. This role is crucial in supporting children and young people in care and care leavers, helping them achieve the best possible outcomes and transition successfully into adulthood.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Implement and support young people’s care and pathway plans through team collaboration, visits, and direct support.
- Prepare young people for adulthood by providing unbiased advice on education, training, and accommodation, and by updating Pathway Plans.
- Support care leavers moving towards independence by providing a statutory service, managing cases, and ensuring access to necessary services.
- Promote participation of children and young people by organising group activities, developing social and learning opportunities, and advocating on their behalf.
- Manage cases in accordance with departmental policies, participate in inter-agency meetings, and maintain accurate case records.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in social care, particularly with children and young people.
- Strong understanding of the needs of children in care and care leavers.
- Ability to work flexibly, including outside normal office hours as needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals and organisations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
