We are seeking a skilled Plumber to join our team, working alongside a joiner to fit adaptations in social housing. This role requires a good knowledge of domestic plumbing, and experience in adaptations would be beneficial. The successful candidate will be involved in maintenance, repairs, and construction projects across Council dwellings, schools, and public buildings.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Carry out all aspects of plumbing work including the installation of central heating systems, solid fuel boilers, sink units, water closets, baths, showers, and wash basins.
- Renew external gutters, fall pipes, and soil stacks as necessary.
- Renew and repair external water services and stop cocks.
- Liaise with other employees of various trades, tenants, managers, caretakers, etc.
- Work at heights using the necessary safety equipment.
- Maintain vehicle stock levels at an optimum level to achieve service efficiency.
- Carry out Driver/Labourer duties as and when required.
- Assist in the development and implementation of good working practices in line with Health and Safety and Equality and Diversity policies.
- Maintain and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately.
- Be willing to work outside normal office hours for emergency call outs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing, willingness to work towards Level 3.
- Proven experience in regular domestic plumbing work.
- Ability to follow instructions and work to drawings.
- Excellent time management and punctuality.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and customer-focused approach.
