Plumbing Lecturer – Green Skills / Heat Pumps
Location: South Essex
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Start Date: August/September
The Role
As a Plumbing Lecturer, you will deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons to learners studying Plumbing qualifications at Levels 1-3. The ideal candidate will bring current industry knowledge, particularly around renewable heating technologies and green construction practices, helping learners prepare for the evolving demands of the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across Plumbing programmes.
- Teach a combination of practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory.
- Incorporate knowledge of heat pumps, low-carbon technologies, and sustainable building practices into the curriculum where appropriate.
- Support, motivate and monitor learner progress to ensure positive outcomes.
- Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment materials.
- Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to quality assurance processes.
- Promote safe working practices and maintain high standards within workshop environments.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to continuously improve the learner experience.
Requirements
- A Level 3 qualification in Plumbing or a closely related discipline.
- Recent and relevant industry experience within Plumbing.
- Experience with ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps, renewable technologies, green skills, or sustainable heating systems would be highly advantageous.
- A recognised teaching qualification is desirable.
- Assessing and/or Internal Quality Assurance qualifications are beneficial but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for developing future talent within the industry.
