Precision Engineering Estimator

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (DOE)
Hours: Full Time, Permanent
We are recruiting a Precision Engineering Estimator for our client, a well-established subcontract CNC machine shop based in Leeds. This Precision Engineering Estimator opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong machining background who is looking to step into or develop within a commercial estimating role.
As a Precision Engineering Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate quotations for precision machined components, working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal production teams. This Precision Engineering Estimator role suits someone who understands CNC milling and turning processes and can confidently interpret engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quotations for CNC machined components
- Interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications
- Liaise with customers to understand technical requirements
- Work closely with production to ensure feasibility and cost accuracy
- Source pricing from suppliers for materials and subcontract processes
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, enquiries, and project data
About You
To succeed as a Precision Engineering Estimator, you should have:
- Experience in CNC machining (milling, turning or grinding)
- Previous estimating experience OR desire to move off the tools
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Understanding of materials, tolerances, and machining processes
- Good communication and customer-facing skills
- Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 3:00pm
