Reed Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the beautiful Cotswolds to recruit a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to provide PPA cover across the school from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA or aspiring teacher who enjoys delivering engaging lessons, supporting pupil progress, and working across different year groups. The school prides itself on its nurturing ethos, high expectations, and commitment to ensuring every child achieves their full potential.
The Role
As a HLTA providing PPA cover, you will:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across the primary age range.
- Provide high-quality classroom cover during teachers' Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time.
- Maintain a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to class teachers.
- Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of all learners.
- Deliver targeted interventions to support pupil achievement.
- Support pupils with SEND, including those with My Plans, My Plan+, and EHCPs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENDCo, parents and external professionals.
- Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and inclusion throughout the school.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
Essential
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience leading whole-class learning within a primary school setting.
- Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- A commitment to inclusive education and supporting all pupils to succeed.
Desirable
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience delivering interventions and supporting SEND learners.
- Knowledge of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches.
