SEN Teaching Assistant – Grade 3 (Part Time Mornings)

The Role

The Governors are seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Grade 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils’ learning, predominantly in Year 5 and Year 6, with flexibility to work in Years 3 and 4 as required.

• Hours: 5 mornings per week (8:35am – 12:30pm)
• Contract: Fixed term until 21 July 2027 (end of summer term), with potential extension subject to funding

This role involves providing targeted support for pupils with special educational needs, helping them access learning, develop confidence and make progress within a supportive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support for pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
• Support pupils’ learning through planned interventions to raise attainment and progress
• Assist in monitoring and recording pupil progress in line with SENDCo and Senior Leadership guidance
• Observe and evaluate pupils’ responses to learning activities
• Support behaviour management and pupil wellbeing
• Supervise pupils during breaks and movement around the school
• Plan and deliver small group activities
• Complete intervention records and required documentation
• Apply the National Teaching Assistant Standards within daily practice
