Principal Flood Risk Consultant Location: Flexible UK Locations Salary: £60,000 – £70,000
Join a leading consultancy as a Principal Flood Risk Consultant and play a pivotal role in shaping flood risk management across diverse sectors.
The Opportunity As a Principal Flood Risk Consultant, you'll collaborate with clients and design teams, leading flood risk management projects in Aviation, Defense, Energy, Cities & Development, Education, Rail, and Water sectors. You'll be part of a Water Management Consultancy practice, where your expertise in hydraulic modelling, hydrology, and GIS will be highly valued.
Key Responsibilities – Lead technical work in flood risk management, focusing on hydraulic modelling, hydrology, and GIS. – Mentor and guide junior staff, ensuring quality assurance for technical deliverables. – Develop and test project solutions for flood mitigation. – Manage and supervise junior resources, supporting project managers and directors. – Engage in business development activities, including tendering and client engagement.
Candidate Requirements – Extensive experience in delivering flood risk projects with a focus on hydraulic modelling. – Proficient in 1D-2D modelling using InfoWorks ICM, TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, and GIS tools. – Strong leadership skills with experience in developing and leading technical teams. – Excellent decision-making abilities and organizational skills. – Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
