Our Private Client team has a strong reputation for handling complex estate planning, probate, and trust matters, and we're looking for an experienced solicitor to join our growing team.
The Role
We are seeking a Private Client Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years' PQE to join our Ipswich office. You'll manage your own caseload of private client matters from day one, working closely with experienced colleagues and supporting partners on more complex files. Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload of private client matters, including wills, lasting powers of attorney, probate and estate administration, and trusts
- Advising clients on inheritance tax planning and asset protection
- Drafting wills, LPAs, trust deeds, and related documentation
- Handling the administration of estates, from obtaining grants of probate through to final distribution
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, including with high-net-worth individuals and families
- Supervising and supporting junior fee earners and support staff where required
- Contributing to the firm's business development activities, including networking and building referral relationships
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and professional conduct requirements
About You
- Qualified Solicitor (or CILEx equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years' PQE in private client work
- Strong technical knowledge of wills, probate, trusts, and estate administration
- STEP qualification (or working towards) desirable but not essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse client base
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy caseload independently
- A proactive, commercially minded approach with an interest in business development
- A genuine interest in providing sensitive, high-quality advice to clients during what can be difficult times
