About the Role
We are working with a well-established and growing law firm in Liverpool that is looking to recruit a Probate Paralegal to join their busy Private Client team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience or a strong interest in wills and probate to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting fee earners with a varied caseload of probate and estate administration matters
- Preparing probate applications and liaising with HMCTS
- Supporting with the administration of estates, including collecting and distributing assets
- Drafting correspondence and supporting documentation for clients and third parties
- Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, HMRC, and financial institutions
- Conducting legal research and gathering relevant documentation
- Assisting with Inheritance Tax (IHT) forms and submissions
- Maintaining accurate case management records using internal systems
- Ensuring compliance with firm procedures and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Private Client / Probate / Wills role (or strong desire to move into this area)
- Understanding of probate process and estate administration
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems
Desirable
- Experience handling your own small caseload
- Knowledge of IHT forms, LPAs, or Court of Protection work
- Legal qualification (LLB, LPC, CILEX – or working towards)
