Temporary Quality Technician
Our client is seeking flexible and reliable Summer Production Operators to join their pilot production team on a temporary basis throughout the summer period. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a live production environment while supporting an exciting operational project.
The role will suit individuals with a technical or scientific background who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on setting and can confidently support both production and basic quality measurement tasks.
Assignment Details
- Contract Type: Temporary – Summer Cover
- Assignment Dates: 20th July 2026 – 28th August 2026
- Pay Rate: £16 per hour
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Candidates must be flexible to work shifts between 8:00am – 10:00pm, working 8 hours per day as required.
The Role
As part of the pilot production team, you will spend the majority of your time supporting hands-on production and material handling activities, while also carrying out simple, guided quality measurements under the supervision of the Process Lead.
This is not a specialist laboratory role. Instead, our client is looking for individuals with enough technical understanding to follow procedures accurately, understand the purpose of the measurements being taken, and recognise when results or processes may not appear correct.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Material Handling
- Carry out practical production tasks on the pilot line, including:
- Material staging
- Big-bag unloading
- Batch preparation support
- Packaging activities
- Support the smooth running of daily production operations.
Quality Measurements
- Perform simple in-process quality checks at designated checkpoints, including:
- Viscosity
- pH
- Temperature measurements
- Follow clear instructions provided by the Process Lead.
Data Recording
- Accurately record production data and measurement results, including:
- Time stamps
- Batch references
- Basic operational records
Schedule & Productivity
- Work in line with the daily production schedule under the direction of the Operations Lead.
- Support the team in meeting both production volume and quality targets.
Housekeeping & Safety
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
- Follow all health & safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Reporting & Communication
- Report any unusual measurement results, equipment concerns, or process anomalies immediately.
- Communicate effectively with both the Operations Lead and Process Lead throughout the shift.
Flexibility
- Move between production handling tasks and measurement activities as operational demands change throughout the day.
- Provide additional support during peak production periods where required.
Required Profile
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A technical or scientific educational background, either currently studying or recently completed.
- Some exposure to basic chemistry or physical measurement concepts.
- The ability to follow clear procedures accurately and consistently.
- Good judgement and attention to detail, with the confidence to raise concerns if something appears incorrect.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Physical capability to undertake manual handling tasks throughout the shift, including handling bags and drums.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively in a busy production environment.
- Fluent English language skills; French language skills would be advantageous due to collaboration with an international project team.
