Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be supporting a major manufacturing brand in their search for a Production Manager. The Production Manager will report into the Plant Manager, and have overall responsibility for the value stream on site, sitting at the heart of a busy, complex, fast paced manufacturing operation. This role will suit an experienced Production Manager who has overseen the manufacturing of high-quality parts in a large factory/operation.
The Role
As Production Manager, you will take full ownership of day-to-day manufacturing output. You will lead a team of supervisors and team leaders, drive performance across OTD, OAE, quality, and safety metrics, and act as the senior operations voice on site during your shift. This is a role for someone who leads from the front.
Responsibilities:
• Own the manufacturing performance against OTD and OAE targets • Align cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality to remove constraints without delay • Enforce production standards and ensure adherence to standard work • Leading & coaching Supervisors, whilst holding them accountable for safety, output, and quality • Control labour deployment and manage overtime spend • Ensure material, tooling, and machine readiness before every shift • Escalate and resolve bottlenecks at pace • Drive 5S & Lean standards and workplace discipline across the floor • Own production risk mitigation and lead recovery plans when targets are missed
Experience we're seeking:
• Proven background in a large scale Production Manager or similar senior manufacturing leadership role • Experience in an automotive, aerospace, defence or high-volume precision manufacturing environment • Strong working knowledge of OEE, OTD, Lean, and 5S • An understanding of quality-driven production environments – AS9100, IATF 16949 • A direct, confident communicator who leads by example on the shop floor • Someone who sets high standards and holds the team to them
