Our client, a growing manufacturing business, is seeking a Group Production Planner to join its Operations and Supply Chain team. This role is responsible for converting customer demand and sales forecasts into achievable production plans while balancing capacity, materials, and operational requirements.
Production Planner – The Role
Working closely with Operations, Procurement, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams, you will develop and manage production schedules, support S&OP activities, and ensure customer delivery commitments are met. You will proactively identify risks, monitor key planning metrics, and drive continuous improvement across planning processes.
Production Planner – Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain production schedules across multiple departments and sites. • Convert forecasts into effective production plans. • Optimise labour, equipment, and material utilisation. • Lead and support Sales & Operations Planning activities. • Monitor inventory levels, service performance, and planning KPIs. • Identify delivery risks and implement recovery plans. • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and performance.
Production Planner – About You
You will have previous production planning experience within a manufacturing environment, along with:
• Strong ERP/MRP and Excel skills. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical ability. • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. • A proactive, organised, and detail-focused approach. • Experience improving planning processes and operational performance.
