Hales Group are recruiting for an experienced and technically minded Production Technician to join our client's high-performing manufacturing team based in Beccles. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role within a fast-paced production environment focused on delivering high-quality, sustainable packaging solutions.
This role is ideally suited to candidates with prior manufacturing or processing experience who can contribute from day one, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production across rotating shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake machine and equipment safety checks prior to start-up and complete all relevant documentation.
- Work collaboratively with the Shift Manager to achieve team plans, including hygiene, improvement, training, and labour plans.
- Prepare and set up production runs, including tool and colour changes, ensuring all materials and equipment are ready.
- Operate and monitor production machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous output throughout the shift.
- Inspect, pack, and identify products in line with company quality specifications.
- Maintain a zero-defect approach, identifying, resolving, or escalating issues where required.
- Meet production output targets set by the Shift Manager.
- Maintain high housekeeping and organisational standards in line with 6S principles.
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety procedures, including use of PPE and reporting hazards.
- Provide flexible support across the team, including cover during breaks and training periods.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude or engineering background.
- GCSE level education (or equivalent), including Maths and English.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and follow structured processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, reliable, and safety-conscious approach to work.
