The Role M&G Life serves over 5 million customers and manages more than £300 billion across a diverse range of products and wrappers, with an ambitious growth agenda for 2025 and beyond. Individual Life and Pensions Change Transformation Programme is at the heart of this transformation – you will be a part of driving the IL&P growth on platforms.
As Programme Manager, you will provide hands-on leadership, ensuring seamless delivery of projects that help to deliver PruFund on 3rd party platforms. You will lead a Project Manager, setting the standard for delivery excellence, fostering a culture of accountability, and championing the use of modern delivery tools. Acting as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, you will translate strategic direction into tangible outcomes, with full ownership of delivery artefacts, governance and reporting.

This is a newly created position and we require someone with significant experience, currently operating in a Programme Manager role.
Key Responsibilities for this Role
- End-to-End Delivery Leadership – Proven ability to lead complex business transformation programmes from initiation to benefits realisation, ensuring alignment with portfolio objectives and governance standards
- Experience engaging senior stakeholders (up to Executive/Board level), building trust and presenting updates in governance forums such as Steering Group
- Strong understanding of governance frameworks, RAID management, and risk mitigation strategies across multi-disciplinary teams and third-party dependencies
- Track record of working in fast-paced, agile environments, applying best practice methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) and continuous improvement principle
- Line manage and develop Project Managers, providing day-to-day direction, coaching, and where appropriate formal performance management
- Set the standard for delivery excellence, acting as a hands-on leader who resolves issues, removes blockers and drives progress
- Foster a culture of accountability, challenge and improvement within the delivery team. Support benefits tracking and realisation in partnership with PMO and portfolio leadership
- Champion the use of delivery tools (Jira highly desirable) and promote data-driven decision-making

With a strong customer-centric mindset, you align delivery to engagement and digital experience goals and continuously seek to learn embracing new technologies and driving innovation in how change is delivered.
- Proven experience as a Programme Manager is essential, with a track record of delivering complex projects or programmes
- Experience leading and developing teams, with the ability to provide both day-to-day direction and formal line management
- Proficiency with delivery tools (Jira experience highly desirable) and hands-on expertise in delivery methodologies -Agile, Waterfall, hybrid – and ability to coach others in best practice
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging both senior leaders, delivery teams and external third parties
- Experience preparing and owning delivery artefacts and reporting for governance forums.
- Strong delivery expertise across a range of project types and relentless focus on delivery, execution and "getting the job done."
- Proven ability to manage and collaborate with external partners and vendors to ensure successful delivery outcomes
- Financial Services change experience is particularly desirable, especially Life & Pensions and/or Marketing & Digital change, but not essential
