Overview

  • A public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Project Delivery Manager to support the delivery of two priority policy-focused projects over the summer period.
  • This role requires a strong delivery professional who can bring structure, governance and momentum to complex policy-led initiatives. Working with senior stakeholders, you will help define project scope, coordinate activity across multiple teams and ensure delivery remains aligned to agreed objectives and timelines.
  • This is not a policy-writing role. Instead, we are looking for someone with strong programme and project management experience who is comfortable operating in complex policy environments and can quickly establish effective delivery disciplines without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

Key responsibilities

  • Bring together stakeholders already delivering elements of the work across both projects.
  • Establish clear project structures, governance arrangements, roles and responsibilities.
  • Support senior leaders in refining project scope, outcomes and delivery plans.
  • Coordinate activity across multiple teams to ensure delivery remains aligned to objectives.
  • Implement proportionate governance, controls, reporting and oversight arrangements.
  • Identify, manage and escalate risks, dependencies and delivery challenges.
  • Track progress against key milestones and maintain delivery momentum.
  • Produce clear updates and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective collaboration across policy, operational and corporate functions.

Project areas
The successful candidate will support delivery across two priority policy-focused projects:

  • A high-profile programme relating to regulatory charging arrangements, legislative considerations and associated policy development.
  • A policy-driven project focused on a significant public interest issue, requiring coordination across stakeholders and support for the development and delivery of key workstreams.

Essential experience

  • Strong project or programme management experience within government, regulatory or public sector environments.
  • Experience delivering policy-focused projects
  • Ability to establish governance, reporting and delivery frameworks.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and navigating organisational complexity.
  • Proven ability to bring clarity and momentum to ambiguous or evolving workstreams.
  • Strong planning, stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience managing risks, dependencies and competing priorities.

Desirable experience

  • Experience working within a regulatory organisation.
  • Understanding of legislative and parliamentary processes.
  • Exposure to projects involving regulatory reform, charging schemes or public policy implementation.
  • Familiarity with judicial review, legal or legislative workstreams.
  • Knowledge of government decision-making and cross-organisational stakeholder engagement.
