Property Development Solicitor
Location: Henley on Thames
Salary: £55k – £75k
Our Client is a leading law firm with a specialist focus on property development. The firm excels in advising developers and landowners on long-term strategic acquisitions and disposals, collaboration agreements, consortium, and promotion agreements, as well as site assembly and conditional and unconditional transactions.
The dedicated team of lawyers focuses exclusively on development transactions, enabling it to provide fast, commercial and tailored advice to meet the challenges and pressures of this dynamic sector. It works closely with its clients at all stages of the development process, offering innovative solutions to achieve successful outcomes.
The Role
The firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Property Development Solicitor to join its exceptional team. In this role, you will work on a wide variety of high-profile and complex development projects, providing strategic legal advice to ensure the smooth delivery of its clients' objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advising developers and landowners on strategic land acquisitions, disposals and related agreements
• Providing legal advice on collaboration, consortium and promotion agreements, as well as conditional and unconditional transactions
• Assisting clients with site assembly and structuring deals to include overage, clawback and indexation payments
• Advising on planning and infrastructure agreements, including Section 106 agreements, utility and highway agreements and addressing challenges related to the Community Infrastructure Levy
• Handling issues related to easements, covenants and indemnity insurance
• Representing banks and financial institutions on secured lending for development projects, covering acquisition, development finance and joint venture structures
• Engaging with a broad network of professionals, such as architects, planning consultants, surveyors and accountants, to support the seamless progression of development projects
About You
To thrive in this role, you will have:
• A qualified solicitor status with 5+ years of PQE in property law, ideally with experience in development transactions
• Strong technical expertise in property development, planning and infrastructure matters
• Exceptional communication, negotiation and client management skills
• The ability to provide pragmatic, commercial advice under time-sensitive conditions
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and excellent attention to detail
