About the Role
As a Psychology Teacher, you will deliver engaging and academically rigorous lessons that encourage students to explore key psychological concepts, research methods, and real-world applications. You will support learners in developing critical thinking, analytical skills, and scientific understanding of behaviour.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Psychology lessons in line with GCSE and A-Level specifications
- Teach topics such as cognitive psychology, social influence, memory, development, and psychopathology
- Introduce research methods, data analysis, and evaluation skills
- Support students in developing essay writing and exam techniques
- Assess, track, and report on student progress
- Contribute to curriculum development within the department
- Support enrichment activities such as revision workshops or psychology clubs
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (desirable but not always essential for sixth form)
- Degree in Psychology or related subject
- Strong understanding of psychological theories and research
- Ability to make complex concepts engaging and accessible
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and student well being
- Willingness to contribute to wider school and sixth form life
