JOB TITLE: Purchasing and Supply Chain Administrator
LOCATION: Bridgwater, Somerset
SALARY: Circa £35,000 PA
HOURS: Monday – Friday 7:30am till 4:30pm

We're looking for a highly organised, motivated individual who's ready to make an impact and become an integral part of a friendly, collaborative team. In this role, you'll work closely with operations, logistics, fabrication, and customer service, gaining exposure across key areas of the business while helping to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. This is a fantastic opportunity and for the right candidate, there's clear potential to quickly progress into a management position, making this an exciting step for someone eager to develop their career within a supportive and progressive environment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key supply chain partners, including suppliers and logistics providers, to improve communication, optimise lead times, ensure timely order fulfilment, and uphold high quality standards across all deliveries.
- Proactively identify cost-saving opportunities and drive improved gross profit margins through effective procurement strategies, including "better buying" practices such as negotiating pricing, reviewing supplier performance, and analysing purchasing trends.
- Support the expansion and optimisation of the supply chain network by identifying and onboarding new suppliers, diversifying sourcing options, and improving supply chain resilience to meet business growth and operational demands.
Key Skills:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Adaptable and able to pick up new systems and process quickly and efficiently
- Proven experience working in a fast paced environment and working to deadlines
- Creative and solution orientated
- Team player with ability to work independently when required
- Strong IT skills with good knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages
- Experience within import or supporting European customers would be highly advantageous but not essential
