Purchasing Manager
Full time permanent role
Mon-Fri 8:30am – 4:00pm – office based role
Uckfield – outskirts. There is plenty of free parking on site available for all staff. Due to workplace location and lack of public transport in the area, it is essential to be a driver and have your own transport.
Salary £35000 per year plus very good company benefits, monthly company lunches, employee discounts, private medical cover, good pension scheme and annual bonus based on company and employee performance

The role – Purchasing Manager
The purpose of the role is to ensure the business acquires necessary goods and services efficiently and cost-effectively, ultimately contributing to increased profitability, reduced waste, and a more efficient supply chain.
Duties will include:
Identifying raw materials, goods, services, or equipment the business needs
Researching, identifying, and evaluating potential vendors to find the most suitable products and prices.
Negotiating favourable terms, prices, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and ensuring quality.
Creating, issuing, and tracking purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods.
Monitoring the quality of goods and services to ensure they meet company standards and customer needs.
Managing the procurement budget
Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
Holding regular meetings with suppliers to ensure compliance
Staying informed on market trends, pricing, and emerging suppliers to make informed purchasing decisions.
Ensuring purchases comply with company policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements
Liaising with other departments, such as finance, marketing, production and fulfilment, to align procurement activities with company goals.
Experience, competencies and knowledge required:
Must drive and have own transport – due to workplace location.
Previous experience in a purchasing / supply chain role
Knowledge of imports / exports
Great communication skills
Enjoy working in a busy environment.
