This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused professional who is passionate about ensuring high standards across the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical infrastructure projects. You'll work closely with project managers, site teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure all work complies with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
As Quality Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining quality assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle. You'll conduct inspections, support audits, review technical documentation, and work collaboratively with delivery teams to ensure quality requirements are consistently achieved.
The Role
- Develop, implement, and maintain project quality plans and inspection processes.
- Conduct site inspections and quality audits to verify compliance with specifications, standards, and client requirements.
- Review Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation, and handover records.
- Ensure construction and installation activities meet company quality procedures and industry regulations.
- Monitor workmanship standards across electrical infrastructure projects.
- Identify non-conformances, investigate root causes, and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to promote a culture of quality.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Produce quality reports, inspection records, and KPI data.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned.
- Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained throughout project delivery.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a Quality Engineer, QA/QC Engineer, or Quality Advisor.
- Experience working on electrical infrastructure, utilities, industrial, or construction projects.
- Good knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001.
- Experience carrying out inspections, audits, and managing quality documentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A proactive, organised approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence.
