We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Quality Manager to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Cheadle, Staffordshire. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a successful organisation that supplies printed flexible packaging and labelling solutions to a diverse range of Blue Chip and niche brands throughout the UK and Europe.
As Quality Manager, you will play a key role within the management team, ensuring the highest standards of Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety compliance are maintained across the business. You will be responsible for managing quality systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all Quality Assurance procedures are effectively implemented and maintained.
- Manage and control environmental impacts relating to the business and establish best practice across operations.
- Coordinate and manage BRCGS and FSC audits, ensuring the highest standards of compliance are achieved and maintained.
- Investigate and resolve any areas of non-compliance, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Support document control processes, corrective and preventative actions, and trend analysis activities.
- Work closely with site representatives to manage Quality Management Systems, Operating Procedures, Hygiene Operations, allergen management, and pest control programmes.
- Provide technical support and guidance relating to packaging compliance, including Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulations (PPWR) and PackUK requirements across the UK and EU.
- Conduct and complete internal audits to support compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement objectives.
- Collaborate with all departments to ensure Health and Safety procedures are followed and legislation remains up to date.
- Chair Health and Safety meetings and drive a proactive safety culture through effective solutions and initiatives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- IOSH certification as a minimum, with practical experience carrying out Health and Safety risk assessments.
- Previous experience managing BRCGS systems and audits.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience investigating and reporting quality issues.
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the business.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and change management.
- A positive, hands-on attitude and commitment to maintaining high standards.
