GBR Recruitment Ltd, are proudly working exclusively with a leading UK wide food manufacturing business (low risk ingredients producer) recruiting for an experienced Quality Manager, to lead a large scale Quality team of x10-15 (QA's, QC's etc.) across several UK manufacturing sites (sites in South Yorkshire, Yorkshire & Manchester).
This is the no.1 Quality role within these area of the business, working closely with the Group Technical Manager, focused on delivering high end Quality processes & working practices, ensuring the business is compliant at all times with BRC, company standards & clients specified standards (control measures & specifications adherence).

This QM role, requires strong QMS, NCR's, GMP, HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, BRC skills, plus time served in multi-site Food Processing operations (Low risk / Low care).
You will be a passionate / engaging mentor, coach & leader of others, driving success.
As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and continually improving existing quality systems, plus incorporating functions set out in the company policies and procedures, customer requirements and legislation.
You will lead the Quality team (20 in the Quality department – multi site) with responsibility for all compliance & quality assurance matters, successfully working with the food manufacturing teams to achieve the highest possible food product quality standards.
You will establish and maintain product quality & deliver high end customer satisfaction; collect & verify process documentation including monitoring & reporting areas of non-compliance (NCR’s); assist in documentation & verification of hygiene practices. This role will require you to travel to all UK sites (9 of them) for BRC audits (1 per 12 months, unannounced audits, 1-2-1's & for various other work duties).
QM Duties:
- Day-to-day management of the quality department
- Internal Auditing lead, carrying out internal audit plans to ensure Quality standards are in place & that all compliance / legislation is adhered to fully, at all times (no excuses / no short falls).
- Work closely with the Technical Manager to ensure technical policies & quality management systems are suitably established, maintained, & most importantly applied across all sites.
- Lead technical problem investigation & problem solving.
- Drive continuous improvement of HACCP across all departments.
- Managing Retailer / Client systems to ensure technical compliance.
- Training & developing staff to required levels in hygiene & food safety.
- Lead for all customer & 3rd party audits & visits (BRC etc.)
- Successfully & accurately maintaining the companies ERP system
QM Attributes:
- QA management professional with vast food manufacturing experience.
- Level 3 qualifications in both HACCP & Food Safety
- Extensive knowledge of working to the latest BRC standards
- Key strengths in HACCP, TACCP, GMP & QMS systems.
- Experience of leading customer & third-party audits (BRC etc).
- Hugely customer focused, delivering real customer satisfaction.
- Strong people management & development skills (leading 10+).
- Strong experience in food ingredients manufacturing / food processing.
- Strong using various food industry IT systems, ERP's + Excel & Word.
