An established and highly successful Civil Engineering Contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team
Operating across a diverse portfolio, the business has built an excellent reputation for delivering quality schemes for both public and private sector clients. The company has a strong order book and a long-standing client base, with projects typically valued up to £2m-£3m
The Role
Reporting into the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple projects from contract award through to final account
Key duties will include:
- Managing project costs and budgets throughout the project
- Preparing valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
- Identifying, pricing and agreeing variations
- Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
- Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor accounts
- Monitoring project performance and cost reporting
- Managing cash flow and forecasting
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
We are keen to speak with Quantity Surveyors who have experience within Civil Engineering, Infrastructure, Highways, Groundworks or General Construction environments
You will ideally possess:
- Previous Quantity Surveying experience within Construction or Civil Engineering
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness
- Good understanding of NEC and JCT
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts and valuations
- Excellent numerical, analytical and negotiation skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- A proactive and organised approach to managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work collaboratively within both commercial and operational teams
