Advisor – Radiological Protection

Location: Derby / Hybrid
Salary: £42,000 – £55,125 + Benefits

ARM is recruiting for an Advisor – Radiological Protection on behalf of a leading organisation developing next-generation nuclear technology.

This is an excellent opportunity to support the design and licensing of an innovative Small Modular Reactor (SMR), providing specialist radiological protection advice across engineering and safety teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support radiological protection activities across the SMR design.
  • Demonstrate radiation risks are reduced to ALARP.
  • Contribute to the Environment, Safety, Security & Safeguards (E3S) Case.
  • Support licensing activities and regulatory engagement.
  • Apply operational learning and nuclear industry best practice.

About You

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a scientific or engineering discipline.
  • Good understanding of IRR17, ALARP and nuclear safety cases.
  • Strong technical documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution is desirable.
  • Experience within the nuclear industry is advantageous.
