Residential Property Paralegal

Join one of the largest legal practices in Surrey and a leading law firm in the Southeast. We are currently seeking a Paralegal to join our Residential Property department. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive and inclusive environment, focusing on delivering outstanding client service and engaging in a variety of legal tasks.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

• Provide direct support to fee earners to enhance operational efficiency.
• Prepare correspondence and legal documents, possibly transcribing from digital dictation.
• Manage filing systems, including opening, closing, storing, and retrieving client files as per office procedures.
• Handle mail dispatch, arrange copying, and prepare conference rooms for meetings.
• Make appointments, arrange meetings, and maintain up-to-date diaries for fee earners.
• Attend to clients and agents in person and on the telephone in a professional manner.
• Assist with completion statements, post-exchange, and pre-completion formalities.
• Undertake online form filling, including SDLT forms, and submit Land Registry forms.
• Obtain information from local authorities and handle registration and post-completion formalities.
• Engage in marketing and other activities beyond normal work duties.
• Maintain confidentiality and operate the firm’s Case Management System effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Legal background with some property experience.
• Good IT skills, including proficiency in relevant software packages.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work to deadlines, cope under pressure, and prioritise workloads effectively.
• Demonstrates initiative, a pro-active approach to work, and a willingness to take on responsibility.
• Alignment with the firm’s core values and a genuine interest in legal work.
