The Role

As Reception Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving excellence across the Reception phase, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning and pupil outcomes. You will work closely with senior leaders and the wider Early Years team to further develop an engaging, ambitious and child-centred curriculum that inspires a love of learning and supports every child to thrive.

  • Contributing to whole-school improvement as part of the middle leadership team.

The school is looking for a teacher who:

  • Can demonstrate consistently good or outstanding teaching practice within EYFS.
  • Has successful experience teaching in Reception and a strong understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
  • Has experience of leading or coordinating an area of provision and is ready to take the next step into middle leadership.
  • Has a strong understanding of early reading, phonics and language development.
  • Is committed to securing excellent outcomes for all children, including those with SEND and EAL.
  • Is an effective communicator who can inspire colleagues, children and families.
  • Is organised, reflective and driven to continually improve practice.
  • Shares a commitment to inclusion, high expectations and excellence for every child.

The School

This large and ambitious primary school serves a diverse community and is committed to ensuring every child flourishes both academically and personally. The school provides an engaging and ambitious curriculum, high expectations for achievement and behaviour, and a nurturing environment where children develop confidence, resilience and a lifelong love of learning. Staff benefit from a collaborative culture, supportive leadership and a strong commitment to professional development, making it an excellent place to grow as a teacher and leader.
