Position: Refuse Collection Driver
Location: Wandsworth
Working Hours: 6 am to 3 pm, Monday – Friday
Employment Type: Full Time – Temporary
What You'll Do:
As a Refuse Collection Driver, you'll be an integral part of our mission to keep the environment clean and safe. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Driving: Safely operate a refuse collection vehicle with a valid HGV Class 2 driving licence.
- Refuse Loading: Support refuse loaders during collections to ensure timely route completion.
- Collections: Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, utilising your knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job.
- Safety First: Employ safe lifting and handling techniques for all articles left for removal.
- Tech Savvy: Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed, keeping up with real-time updates.
- Paperwork: Complete relevant paperwork promptly and accurately.
- Vehicle Inspections: Conduct daily inspections of machinery and vehicles before and after use, reporting any issues.
- Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness of all machinery and vehicles.
- Customer Relations: Foster excellent relationships with the public and other motor users, ensuring a positive experience for all.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (with no more than 6 points).
- Driver CPC certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and willing to assist your team.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to various tasks.
- Clean driving record is desirable.
