Relief Duty Officer
Marks Consulting Partners are currently recruiting for a Relief Duty Officer to work with one of our local authority clients in Sussex.
This is a temporary position paying £30 per hour.
What you will be doing:
- Seeking to prevent homelessness arising wherever possible by working with people at risk, ensuring timely advice and assistance
- Discharging the council's statutory duties and responsibilities for homeless persons in accordance with the provisions set out in the 1996 Housing Act
- Fully investigating formal homelessness applications
- Making complex legal decisions regarding the council's duties to applicants
What you will need:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Housing Options Officer
- Previous experience of Home Connections/HOPE
- A strong working knowledge of homelessness law and policy
