Religious Education Teacher – Northampton

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a well-regarded secondary school in Northampton seeking a dedicated Religious Education Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time position, with the school ideally looking to appoint on a permanent basis, although fixed-term contracts and long-term supply arrangements will also be considered.
The successful candidate will teach Religious Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for the right candidate. You will become part of a supportive Humanities department committed to delivering engaging, thought-provoking lessons that encourage students to develop their understanding of religion, ethics, philosophy, and contemporary issues.
The role will involve:

Teaching Religious Education across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 opportunities

Planning and delivering engaging lessons that promote discussion, reflection, and critical thinking

Creating an inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident expressing their views respectfully

Supporting students of all abilities to achieve their full potential

Working collaboratively with the Humanities department to develop curriculum resources and share best practice

Encouraging students to develop an understanding of different beliefs, cultures, and moral perspectives
The ideal candidate will:

Hold QTS/QTLS or an equivalent teaching qualification

Have strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Religious Education

Be confident managing behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment

Be committed to delivering inclusive, high-quality teaching and learning
-
Be suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
