At Fairhive, we’re growing our renewable services and are looking for a skilled Renewable Operative to help deliver high-quality, sustainable heating solutions across our homes. This is a great opportunity to develop your expertise in air source heat pump systems while making a genuine difference to residents’ comfort, safety, and energy efficiency.
About the role
You’ll be responsible for delivering a full range of air source heat pump (ASHP) services across occupied and void properties, including servicing, repairs, fault diagnosis, and supporting installations.
Your role will include:
- Servicing, maintaining, and repairing air source heat pumps and domestic heating systems
- Diagnosing faults and delivering a right-first-time, cost-effective solution
- Inspecting properties to assess and plan required works
- Recording all work accurately using a PDA system
- Supporting both planned and reactive maintenance programmes
- Working collaboratively with the wider heating team, including supporting gas servicing when required
As a key representative of Fairhive, you’ll provide a professional, friendly service to residents, ensuring a positive customer experience on every visit.
You’ll also take part in a call-out rota to support emergency repairs outside of normal working hours.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a skilled tradesperson with strong technical knowledge and a customer-first mindset.
You’ll have:
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Plumbing, Heating, or Mechanical Installation (or equivalent)
- ACS qualifications and Gas Safe registration
- Experience working with domestic heating systems, ideally including air source heat pumps
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
- Good IT skills (PDA / job systems)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
