We are looking for caring and motivated individuals to join our Children & Family Services as Support Practitioners.

This is a maternity cover position for up to 1 year.

In this role, you will support children and young people in a residential setting, helping them feel safe, develop confidence and build skills for the future.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting children and young people with day-to-day care
  • Building positive relationships and offering emotional support
  • Encouraging participation in activities and routines
  • Working with colleagues to maintain a safe environment
  • Supporting care plans and maintaining records

About you

You will have experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals and bring a positive, patient and consistent approach. You will be able to work as part of a team, follow guidance and respond appropriately in different situations. You will be willing to learn, develop your skills and take on responsibility within the role. You will hold, or be willing to work towards, an HNC in Social Care and SVQ Level 3 and must hold a full manual driving licence.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
