Retail Supervisor Overview:

As a Store Supervisor, you will energise and lead the shop floor—driving standout customer experiences, inspiring high-performance selling, and delivering exceptional commercial results. You’ll champion brand values, raise standards, and motivate your team to shine, all while bringing ProDirect’s football and lifestyle culture to life with passion and pride.

Responsibilities of a Retail Supervisor:

  • Lead the shop floor with energy—delivering outstanding customer service, engaging shoppers through strong product knowledge and authentic storytelling.
  • Coach and motivate the team through real-time feedback, 1-2-1s, and daily leadership that builds capability, confidence, and high performance.
  • Drive commercial results by reacting to trading patterns, using KPIs to inform priorities, and maximising sales through active selling and strong floor execution.
  • Maintain excellent stock availability and visual merchandising standards while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and overall shop-floor impact.
  • Represent and bring ProDirect’s football and lifestyle culture to life, staying tuned into trends, competitors, and community opportunities.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training to build a knowledgeable, engaged, high-performing team.
  • Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations by following cash handling, loss prevention, health & safety, and regulatory procedures.
  • Handle customer issues professionally, turning challenges into positive experiences and maintaining brand trust.

Experience and Skills of a Retail Supervisor:

  • Experience in a customer-facing retail role, ideally within sport or lifestyle environments, with the ability to support or lead teams on the shop floor.
  • Strong leadership presence—confident guiding others, giving direction, and motivating the team during fast-paced trading.
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills, with a customer-first mindset and calm, approachable manner.
  • Solid commercial awareness, understanding retail performance drivers, KPIs, and how to maximise sales through strong floor execution.
  • Good operational judgement—knowing when to act independently and when to escalate, while confidently delivering daily priorities.
  • Strong organisational and visual standards focus, with an understanding of merchandising, stock processes, and maintaining an impactful shop floor.
  • A proactive, hands-on attitude with ambition to develop further, supporting team success and the wider management team.
  • Passion for football, sport, and lifestyle culture, with awareness of trends influencing customers both in-store and online.
