We're working with a leading regional law firm to recruit an Risk and ComplianceSolicitor into a senior, business-critical position.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced solicitor with a background in professional negligence or litigation to move into a strategic, non-fee-earning role where you'll work closely with the firm's COLP and senior leadership team.
Rather than acting for clients, you'll be advising the business itself, helping manage legal risk, handling professional negligence matters, overseeing complex complaints and influencing how the firm continues to strengthen its governance and client care.
The Role?
You'll play a key role in protecting the firm's interests, providing commercially focused advice and supporting continuous improvement across the business.
Responsibilities include:
- Advising on professional negligence claims and legal risk
- Managing complex client complaints from investigation through to resolution
- Assessing liability and exposure while liaising with insurers and external counsel
- Providing pragmatic advice to partners and senior stakeholders
- Supporting the firm's governance, compliance and risk management framework
- Identifying trends and implementing improvements to reduce future risk and enhance client care
About you?
- Professional negligence
- Commercial litigation or dispute resolution
- Risk and compliance (or an interest in moving into this area)
- Strong commercial judgement
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- The confidence to influence and advise senior stakeholders
- A proactive approach to improving processes and managing risk
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
