We are recruiting for a well-established removals company seeking a Removals Sales Consultant / Surveyor to grow territory revenue, deliver profitable sales, and develop an effective survey and quotation process across the Basingstoke area.

You'll conduct surveys via telephone, video, and field visits, convert enquiries into profitable bookings, and work closely with operations to ensure seamless service delivery – all while earning competitive commission on top of your base salary and car allowance.
The Role
As Removals Sales Consultant / Surveyor, you'll be responsible for generating profitable revenue within your territory, conducting accurate surveys using multiple methods, converting enquiries, and ensuring margin targets are consistently achieved.
Working in conjunction with the Group Manager, you'll help establish and refine a successful sales and survey process that combines office-based (video/telephone) surveys with field visits to maximize conversion rates and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Revenue Generation
- Grow territory revenue in line with brand standards and deliver profitable sales against margin expectations and targets
- Define and execute a sales strategy to effectively service the business requirements
- Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings through consultative selling and relationship building
- Identify customer buying criteria and tailor solutions to meet their specific needs
- Use price bounce techniques to gauge customer reaction and optimize pricing strategies
- Maximize revenue through insurance sales, uplifts, and affiliate revenue streams
- Achieve annual revenue targets and sales productivity goals
Survey & Quotation Management
- Complete customer surveys via telephone, video call, self-survey tools, and field visits as appropriate
- Conduct accurate volume assessments and property surveys to ensure quotation accuracy
- Prepare detailed, competitive quotations using costing forms and pricing tables
- Determine appropriate margins based on move date, insurance value, competition, and customer confidence in brand
- Submit professional quotations within required timescales
- Record all enquiries, quotations, and outcomes accurately in Navision system
- Follow up all jobs to conclusion and maintain detailed records
Customer Relationship Management
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales journey
- Build trust and confidence in the brand through professionalism and expertise
- Develop strong alliances and maintain long-term customer relationships
- Address customer questions, concerns, and requirements promptly and professionally
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
- Removals industry experience – whether in sales, operations, surveying, or customer service
- Previous sales experience with a proven track record of meeting targets
- Good negotiating and influencing skills
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- PC literate with ability to learn business systems (Navision experience beneficial)
- Ability to build alliances and maintain strong customer relationships
- Understanding of customer needs and competitive environment
- Good networking skills and commercial awareness
- Full UK driving licence (for field surveys)
